Yemen: The Birthplace of Coffee — Milan

An Origin Experience by CeedSeries at Orsonero

From Magical Yemen

Yemen is often called the birthplace of coffee.

Yemeni coffees are known for their distinctive sweetness and complexity, with notes of spices such as cardamom and nutmeg, along with impressions of black tea and dried dates.

In Sana’a, the capital of Yemen, Team Sheba Coffee operates a processing center dedicated to connecting farmers’ hard work with coffee communities around the world.

Especially from the high-altitude Al-Hayma region, where challenging growing conditions shape the coffee’s floral character, these coffees are produced in very limited quantities. Yet their value lies not in quantity, but in the uniqueness they preserve.

It was an honor to share these rare Yemeni coffees and their stories with you on a special Friday evening at Orsonero in Milan, Italy.
